    National Police Week

    Members of the Suffolk County PD traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend a candlelight vigil honoring 282 Officers killed in the line of duty who were added to the National Police memorial. Among them were two of our own Officer Robert Kirwan and Chief Thomas Compitello who both lost their lives due to 9/11 related cancer.

    R.I.P. Officer Jacob Derbin

    The Suffolk County PBA extends our deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and members of the Euclid Police Department in Ohio over the passing of Jacob Derbin. Officer Derbin was shot and killed while responding to a disturbance call last night. Officer Derbin had served with the Euclid Police Department for 10 months. He is survived by his fiancee.

We also want to thank the mothers who raised our honorable officers. Your love, support, and guidance have helped shape them into the brave and selfless individuals they are today.

    On today's lesson plan, how to avoid accountability for your actions and hold our nation's colleges hostage. Instead of thanking the officers who risked their own safety to restore order at Stony Brook, this group attacked the police falsely claiming we were "heavy-handed".

    The pre-tax benefit plan allows you to take advantage of tax savings on unreimbursed medical expenses, childcare, and adoption assistance. The amount of money you elect to put into the plan will be divided over twenty-five pay periods and taken from your check pre-tax similarly to your deferred compensation.  You may then submit for reimbursement for eligible expenses.   This is a great way to save.
